The Benefits of Group Canine Training

Do you think that you and your dog will do better in a group setting? Here are some of the benefits that this class style can offer you and your pup:

  • Socialization: Your pup will learn to interact and be around other dogs and people, and feel comfortable and calm while doing so.
  • Real Life Preparation: Classes expose dogs to controlled distractions like other dogs, people, sounds and smells, so they can learn to focus and practice discipline in busy environments.
  • Support for Owners: You’ll also receive help. Owners will get guidance from coaches and peers, fostering a supportive and encouraging community.

What You’ll Learn in Group Obedience Classes

What many dog owners might not know is that dog training, whether in group or private settings, is just as much about coaching people as it is pups. Whether you’re a first-time dog owner or you’ve had them for years, there are always new things you can learn to become a better leader and caretaker. Some of the critical knowledge you’ll attain from our classes includes:

Is Group Training Right for My Dog?

At Balanced Paws K9 Training, we want pooches and their owners to receive the ideal type of training for their needs. What might be right for some dogs may not be for yours. Our group classes may be a good option for your pup if they are generally friendly or neutral around other dogs and people, even if they’re a bit distracted or excited at first. If they have aggressive tendencies or a fear of public places, then you may want to explore other options. We can provide your dog with an Initial Behavioral Assessment and Consultation to determine which kind of training coaching is right for them.
